The Embassy of Dutch Creativity promotes Dutch top creativity abroad. For the 2016 presence at the Cannes Lions Festival a new visual identity was needed. Key question was: how can we translate the Dutch DNA and Amsterdam’s vibe to an inspiring and newsworthy presence during the Cannes Lions festival?
Our challenge was to come up with a visual language that reflects the creative heritage of the Dutch and their theme ‘#likeadutchie’.
For this project we were inspired the Dutch art movement ‘De Stijl (The Style) from around the 1920s, often characterized as the founding fathers of Dutch Design. Members of De Stijl were looking for a radical transformation of art and creativity, which came along with the technical, scientific and social changes in the world. This reform was characterized by the use of a limited color palette and the basic, but bold design.
Dog and Pony Amsterdam believes the foundations of design are rooted in strong ideas. Our team stands for craftsmanship, contemporary and distinctive design. We create media-defined solutions that have won awards at national and international level.
We work for clients including The Royal Concertgebouw, NPO3, Achtung, Lebowski Publishers and Grove Atlantic.
