Grand Theatre visual identity

Grand Theatre is situated in a unique historical building in the heart of the southern town of Breda. The expressionist Art Déco building was constructed in 1919 and was used as a theater and cinema until 2007. The bookstore annex espressobar annex lunchroom opened its doors early 2016. We were asked to develop a visual identity that would incorporate the history of the building, the bookstore as well as the catering concept.

The design concept is centered around the Art Deco style of the 1920’s. Breda’s coat of arms, visible on different spots in the building, was abstracted into the primary logo.
