We were assigned to develop a dynamic visual identity that would emphasize the close affinity between Flanders and the Netherlands.

We used ‘the wave’ as a metaphor for the North Sea, that connects Flanders and the Netherlands to Germany. A wave, as the beginning of something new, changing forever, never repetitive. The Dutch / Flemish Guest of Honourship created a huge uprise of Dutch and Flemish literature in Germany. During the fair, the Guest of Honour Pavilion, created in collaboration with The Cloud Collective, was the center point of all activities and the core of the visual identity.
